2nd Derivative - Rental Portal

Rental Portal is based on the 2nd Derivative Portal Suite which contains 11 Portals covering 5 business cycles. But, what makes it very interesting to Rental Customers is that its design point is web centric so whether a quote, contract or bill is entered locally, remotely or over the web, it does not matter. Also, Rental Portal is composite software that takes advantage of the latest developments in Open Source software, and Linux/Java.

Additionally, each transaction type has it own shopping cart and catalogs. Currently for Rental there is the classic equipment rental, sales items, and work orders for repairs and warranty work including warranty billing to vendor or customer. Other transaction types can be created on a custom basis without impacting the existing Portal because it would have its own shopping cart, and catalog.

The base system is multi-company, multi-location (branch), multi-warehouse. The typical rental company would use Sales Portal for customer and prospect management, Order Portal for customer orders and self service over the internet, Order Entry Portal for contract entry and billing, inventory management, work order and warranty processing, Financial Portal for standard financial (AR, AP, and GL), Warranty Accrual and Reconciliation and Purchasing, Information Portal for operational and financial reporting.
